After a gully wash hit East Texas late Monday night, the district opening baseball game between Rusk and Diboll was moved to Pop Jordan Field. The 'Jacks were in it early, trailing 3-2 after two innings, but the Eagles poured on nine runs in the final three innings to take a 12-2 win. More ... With a 1-0 victory over Hudson on Friday night, the Diboll Lady ‘Jack soccer team moved one step closer to returning to the playoffs for the second straight season. If they can win one of their final two games against Center or Jacksonville, they will punch their post-season ticket. More ... With much of their non-district schedules washed away with the recent winter weather, both the softball and baseball teams relished the weekends clear skies as they each competed in local tournaments. More ... * Led by seniors Tiffany Mott, Chelsea Burns, and Kayla Martel, the Lady ‘Jack track team captured second place at the York Relays held in Huntsville on Saturday. Mott took first in the shot put, Martel took first in the pole vault, and Burns finished first in the high jump and second in the long jump and triple jump. More ... Brett Nash had a career day at Neches Pines on Monday. He shot a personal best 80 during the 18 hole event hosted by the Lumberjacks.
