Joe "Pochito" Tamez, Jr., 18, of Cleveland, was born October 10, 1988, in Diboll, and passed away Sunday, November 12, 2006, in Nacogdoches, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was a member of Rios DeAgua Viva Baptist Church.
Pochito was survived by his father, Joe Tamez of Hudson; mother, Rosa Jasso of Cleveland; sister, Maria Griselda Narvaez of Cleveland; brother, Christian Oviedo of Cleveland; grandparents, Roberto and Antonia Jasso of Mexico; grandmother, Maria Tamez of Hudson; nieces, Ruby and Evelyn Narvaez of Cleveland; and a number of aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives.
Pochito was preceded in death by his grandfather, Rudy Tamez, Sr. Pallbearers were Fabian Jasso, Carlos Riojas, III, Tomas Martinez, Christian Oviedo, Jimmy Narvaez and Roberto Jasso. Services for Pochito were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, November 14, 2006, in the Gipson-Metcalf Funeral Chapel, with Reverend Nelson Torres officiating.
