HELEN WALTERS

April 18, 1914 - Dec. 25, 2006

Funeral services for Mrs. A. G. (Helen) Walters, were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, December 30, 2006, in the Elwyn M. Gipson Memorial Chapel in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park with Dr. John W. Greene and Reverend Walter Futch officiating. Interment followed in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.

Mrs Walters, 92, of Lufkin, was born April 18, 1914, in Arp, Texas, to the late Fannie Laura (Spivey) and James Walter Mason. She passed away Monday, December 25, 2006, in a Lufkin hospital.

She was very active years ago at Harmony Hill Baptist church, teaching Sunday school and working in the WMA. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a member of the Faith Sunday school Class at Harmony Hill Baptist Church. She also worked at The Yardstick for more than 20 years.

Survivors include her daughter, Glenda Bryan of Lufkin; son and daughter-in-law, Arlin and Judy Walters of Whitehouse; grandsons and their wives, Gary and Tracy Bryan of Kingwood and Mark and Amy Bryan of Colmesneil; grandson, Phillip Bryan of Lufkin; great-granddaughters, Maggie Bryan, Abbie Bryan and Kristina Bryan; great-grandsons, Jordan and Haren Bryan, Kevin Bryan of College Station and special friend Veronica Bragg; sister and brother-in-law, Reba and Dick Goad of Tyler; grandsons, Collin and Kelley Walters of California, Brandon Walters of Austin, Simon and Mika Walters of Japan, Josh Walters and Annie Walters of Whitehouse; very special niece, Fay Walters; great-niece, Rose Ann Watson; and her special friends in the Faith Sunday School Class of Harmony Hill Baptist Church.

Her husband, A. G. Walters, her parents, several brothers and sisters and a loving granddaughter-in-law, Karen Bryan preceded her in death.

Pallbearers were Gary Bryan, Phillip Bryan, Mark Bryan, Brandon Walters, Kevin Bryan and Randy Rayford.

Honorary pallbearers were Colin Walters, Simon Walters, and the Deacons of Harmony Hill Baptist Church.

Oakley-Metcalf Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
