George Culbertson, co-owner of Angelina Nursing Home in Lufkin, speaks at the January meeting of the Angelina County Historical Forum. Mr. Culbertson tells of the history of the County Hospital.
Curtis Grimes of the Beulah community retires from Lufkin Industries' Trailer Division after 33 years of service.
TREE CITY USA recognizes Diboll for the fourth straight year as a national tree city.
Temple-Eastex Incorporated approves a one time, voluntary early retirement offer to all salaried employees in the Pulp and Paperboard Division who as at least 55 years of age with at least ten years of company service as of January 1, 1986.

Reservations are now being taken by Mrs. Marjorie Shepherd of Diboll for a foreign study tour this summer. The program consists of 24 days of study in Cairo, Luxor, Aswan, Abu Simbel with visits to London and Paris.
Angelina County Commissioners officially endorse the lobbying for a second district court in Lufkin.
