The Diboll Lumberjacks had a bad week. Actually that is an understatement -the Diboll Lumberjacks had a terrible week. After fighting to first place the week before the Lumberjacks fell hard as they faced two tough opponents last week.

On Thursday night the Lumberjacks hosted the Crockett Bulldogs who have recently become a daunting rival of the Lumberjacks in all sports.

The Lumberjacks came out fighting hard and things looked like it might remain close once the fist quarter was said and done but the Bulldogs were done toying around.

In the second period the Bulldogs gave the Lumberjacks the run for their money scoring 32 points in the quarter while the Lumberjack trailed with a 20 point deficit of 12 in the period. As the things stood at the half it didn't look good for the Lumberjacks as they trailed 29-47.

While they tried to no end the Lumberjacks could not come back from their second quarter deficit to take Crockett who claimed victory with a final score of 74-55.

Jefferson Hayes led the Lumberjacks in scoring with 12 points.

The following night the Lumberjacks traveled to face Bulldogs again this time in Central. But things still wouldn't go the way of the Lumberjacks as they attempted to best Central on their homecoming night.

The determined Bulldogs would not allow the Lumberjacks to even begin with a chance as they held the Jacks to only 26 points in the first half as they flew on to score 34. The Lumberjacks attempted a comeback but the Bulldogs consistently came ahead with a final score of 77-53 as Central claimed the big “V” for their homecoming night.
