Memorial unveils newly renovated Cancer Center

Memorial Health System of East Texas is pleased to announce the grand opening of the newly renovated Arthur Temple Sr., Regional Cancer Center. Members of the media as well as the general public was invited to tour the facility yesterday evening at the Center located at 1201 W. Frank in Lufkin.

The newly renovated facility is now the home of the latest in cancer treatment technology.  This $7 million dollar upgrade includes Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT), the only permanent PET/CT scanning in the area, fusing of PET/CT and MRI images for treatment planning, Anatom-e System, CT-based simulation and two Siemens Oncor Multileaf Collimator Linear Accelerators.

The Arthur Temple Sr. Regional Cancer Center is the only facility in the area to be recognized for clinical excellence by the American College of Surgeons, ranking in the nation's top 25% of all cancer centers in the country.
