Memorial services for Ruth Thompson Tucker, of Lufkin, were held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, January 28, 2007, in the Henderson Chapel of the First United Methodist Church of Lufkin with Reverend Carol C. Turner, Reverend Martin Doran and Reverend Donald Mitchell officiating.
Ruth was born March 28, 1917, in Huntington and died Thursday, January 18, 2007, at her residence.
She is survived by six nieces and nephews; sixteen great-nieces and great-nephews; many any great-great nieces and nephews; and one great-great-great niece. Ruth's life was spent in a 40-year teaching career, from a two-teacher country school in the community of Saron in the Huntington School District, until her retirement from Lufkin Independent School District at Trout Elementary School.
