JERRY BUSBY

April 13, 1957 - Feb. 4, 2007

Jerry D. Busby, 49, of Crockett, was born April 13, 1957, in Diboll, the son of Annie Mae (Milligan) Busby and the late L.A. Busby. He passed away Sunday, February 4, 2007, in a Crockett hospital.

Services for Jerry will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, February 7, 2007, in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Mack McCall and Rev. James Cobb officiating. Interment will follow in the Ryan Chapel Cemetery.

Jerry was employed with Dewayne King Construction. He was a devoted husband, father, son and grandfather. He was a member of the Houston County Search and Rescue Team. Jerry served in the United States Army in the Special Services Forces, and was a member of the Assembly of God Faith.

Survivors include his wife of 31 years, Rita Busby of Crockett; daughter and son-in-law, Sara and Ignacio Serratos of Diboll; daughters, Leaana Busby and Kay-Lynne, both of Diboll; grandchildren, Christina, Savannah, Santi, Marcos, Jace, Alex and John Jr.; special kids, Amanda DeJesus, Cassundra "Sookie" Levias, Marla Rosales, Stacy Watkins, Steve Watkins and Christine Grimes; mother, Annie Mae Busby of Diboll; mother, Callie Ruth Pharris Baskin of Winnsboro; brothers, Donny Shatto and David Amerson; sister, Terry Ore; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives. Jerry was preceded in death by his father, L.A. Busby; mother-in-law, Barbara Waller; nephew, Eddie Grimes; and grandmother, Elizabeth (Meme) Goins.

Pallbearers will be John Lowery, Jamie Lowery, Jason Lowery, Dewayne King, Curtis McDaniel and Sonny Kilparick.

Honorary pallbearers will be Thomas Waller, Steven Kennedy, Brad Griffith, David Allen Amerson and John Paul Tatum. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday evening at Gipson Funeral Home. Gipson Funeral Home; Philip Snead, Director.
