Graveside services for Mark Wayne Childers, 36, of Dallas will be held Thursday, February 8, 2007 at 1 p.m. in the Fielder Cemetery with Reverend William S. Slight officiating. Mr. Childers was born January 15, 1971 in Lufkin, Texas, to Margaret (Murphy) and Johnny Wayne Childers, and died Monday, February 5, 2007 at his residence.
A former resident of Lufkin, Mr. Childers had resided in Dallas for the past 23 years. He graduated from R. L. Turner High School in 1989, and from the University of North Texas in 1998, with degrees in Spanish and Criminal Justice. He was a member of the Mary Immaculate Catholic Church in Dallas.
Survivors include his mother, Margaret Childers Price of Dallas; father, Johnny Wayne Childers of Lufkin; aunt, Judy Murphy of Lufkin; uncles, David Murphy, Charles Murphy and Jimmy Childers, all of Lufkin; and numerous cousins and other family members. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Jim and Irene Murphy; and paternal grandparents, Johnny and Lilian Childers.
