Funeral services for J. Hunter Carrell, 22, of Huntington were held Tuesday, February 13, 2007 at 10 a.m. in the Carroway-Claybar Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Joe Sawyer officiating. Interment followed in the Treadwell Cemetery.
Hunter was born February 16, 1984 in Lufkin, Texas, to Cynthia (Toole) Carrell Collins and Grover Cleveland "Buddy" Carrell, III, and died Saturday, February 10, 2007 at his residence.
Hunter loved being outdoors, fishing, hunting, hanging out at the river, riding four wheelers, and playing in the mud. Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Cynthia and Dennis Collins of Huntington; brother, Jason Carrell of Huntington; sister, Keisha Collins of Quitman; fianc?e, Jessica Holland of Huntington; maternal grandfather, Eddie Toole of Hemphill; paternal grandmother, Dorothy King of Huntington; paternal grandmother, Vada Carrell of Huntington; step-grandparents, Tom and Ruby Collins of Huntington; and a number of uncles, aunts and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Buddy Carrell; grandmother, Dorothy Toole; and grandfather, G.C. Carrell, Jr. Pallbearers will be Cody Scott, Richard Havard, Ryan Havard, Dustin Massey, Marshall Howard and David Wojan. Memorial contributions may be made to Alcohol and Drug Abuse Council of Deep East Texas, 304 North Raguet, Lufkin, Texas 75901 or the D.A.R.E. Program at Huntington ISD, P.O.
