Funeral services for Callie Ruth Pharris Baskin, 69, of Winnsboro, will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, February 15, 2007 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Roy Hall and Bro. Charlie Mettlen officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Vernon Cemetery in Houston, County.
Callie Ruth Pharris Baskin, born January 27, 1938 in Cherokee County, was the daughter of the late Erma (Wright) and Frank Pharris. She passed away Monday, February 12, 2007 in a Tyler hospital.
Mrs. Baskin was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was very devoted to her family and her fish farm. She was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include her son, Donny Shatto of Winnsboro; son and daughter-in-law, David and Liz Amerson of Lufkin; daughter and son-in-law, Terry and Kenneth Orr of Winnsboro; daughter-in-law, Rita Busby of Diboll; grandchildren, John Robicheaux, Tina Carr, David Allen Amerson, Elton Amerson, Lisha Stringer, Sara Serratos, Leaana Busby, Kay-Lynne Busby, Wayne Orr, Jessica Moore and Brian Baskin; 15 great-grandchildren; step-sisters, Faye Elliott of Diboll and Callie Pugh of Hudson; step-brother, A. J. Elliott of Diboll; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
In additions to her parents, Mrs. Baskin was preceded in death by her husband, John Baskin; son, Jerry Dale Busby; and brother, Charlie Pharris.
Pallbearers will be Shiloe Moore, Troy Carr, John Robicheaux, David Allen Amerson, Elton Amerson and Edward Oldham.
Honorary pallbearer will be Elwin Derryberry.
Gipson Funeral Home, Philip Snead, director, was in charge of arrangements.
