MARTHA GRAGOE

July 1, 1922 - Feb. 12, 2007

Funeral services for Martha Gerhardt Cragoe, were held at Calvary Baptist Church at 10 a.m. Saturday, February 17, 2007, with Bro. Paul Sevar officiating.

Martha Gerhardt Cragoe was born on July 1, 1922 and went home to be with her Lord on February 12, 2007.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Dr, Edward J. Cragoe, Jr., daughter and son-in-law Martie and Marty Sammons; son and daughter-in-law Tom and Rebecca Cragoe, and daughter and son-in-law Chris and Gary Fuller; her four grandchildren, Marci and her husband Daniel, Margi, Mardi and Kristen.

Martha was born in Mobile, Alabama and graduated from Auburn University with a B.S. degree in architecture. She married Ted on December 27, 1943, and shortly afterward they both trusted Jesus Christ as their personal Savior by believing that Christ died in their place for their sins and rose again. Martha served faithfully by Ted's side as a wife and mother to their three children. As members of Limerick Chapel in Pennsylvania, Martha taught a senior high girls' Sunday School class for over 10 years. She also prepared handouts for her husband's Bible Institute classes. Ted and Martha retired to Nacogdoches in 1990 and have been faithful members of Calvary Baptist Church. Martha was a committed follower of Jesus Christ. She spent her life in the selfless service of others as a faithful wife and a devoted mother. She had a precious, caring heart; besides her devotion in serving her family, what each other family members did was of utmost importance to her. Even from a distance, we always knew she was supporting us through prayer and interest in our news, no matter how small.

Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Directors, was in charge of arrangements.
