Funeral services for Winston Richard, 85, of Diboll were held Tuesday, February 20, 2007 at 2 p.m. in the Carroway-Claybar Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Gary Fannon officiating. Interment followed in the Ryan Chapel Cemetery.
Mr. Richard was born July 4, 1921 in Nacogdoches, to Annie B. (Lilly) and Holt Richard and died Sunday, February 18, 2007 in a local hospital. Mr. Richard was a retired machinist having been employed with Lufkin Industries for 40 years. He served in the U.S. Army and was of the Methodist faith.
Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, John and Carolyn Richard of Diboll; daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and Jerry Williams of Lufkin; grandchildren, Amy Smith, Sharon Benavides, Marsha Davidson, Phillip Richard; seven great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Alvin and Libby Richard of California.
Pallbearers were Phillip Richard, Michael Davidson, Gary D. Smith, Alex Benavides, Steve Sikes, and Gary Mike Smith.
