Area Champions!; Lady Jacks defeat Lorena, face Madisonville tonight

The Diboll Lady Jacks are advancing to the next round of the playoffs following a big win over The Lorena Lady Leopards on Friday night in Fairfield.

The Lady Jacks were energized from the very beginning as they awaited their opportunity to step out onto the court and take home the Area Championship. A feat they easily accomplished as they defeated Lorena 58-41.

The Lady Jacks hit the court following an hour long delay in which a Class 4A battle ensued into four overtimes. Despite the wait the Lady Jacks were as ready as ever as they faced the Lorena Lady Leopards under the watchful eye of many supportive fans who made the long drive to see them play.

Moné Deason led the ladies in huge display of talent with 20 points including three from across the line for three points each. She also had nine rebounds, two assists and three steals on the night.

Deason was followed by Vanessa Jones who had 13 points and two assists.

Nikki Greene was dominant beneath the basket with 19 rebounds and 8 points.

Oher scores for the ladies fro Diboll were: TK Jackson with six points, five rebounds and four steals, Deneshia Holman with six points and two assists and Cammi Evans with four points, four rebounds and two assists.

The Lady Jacks will be back in action tonight as they face Madisonville in Regional Quarterfinals tonight at Sam Houston. The game starts at 6:30 pm.
