DOROTHY FANT

Funeral services for Dorothy Fant, 77, of Lufkin were held Tuesday, February 27, 2007 at 1 p.m. in the Carroway-Claybar Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Robert Faulk and Reverend Cary Modisett officiating. Interment followed in the Whitehouse Cemetery. Mrs. Fant was born August 2, 1929 in Paxton, Texas to Gladys S. (Owen) and Charlie P. Hill, and died Saturday, February 24, 2007 in a local hospital. Dorothy was a member of The Savanna Army Depot Wives Club, the U.S. Army Gray Ladies, and was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church. Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Gale Fant of Lufkin; son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Sarah Fant of Zavalla; daughter, Sharron G. Diveley of Lufkin; granddaughter, Christina Leach of Lufkin; grandsons, Paul Fant of Houston and Timothy Fant of Zavalla; granddaughters, Laura Dempsey of Woodville and Dana Batte of Tyler; 11 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gladys and Charlie P. Hill; brother, James R. Hill; sister-in-law, Ruth Hill; and niece, Vickie Thrash.
