Funeral services for Rudolph P. (Rudy) Fuller, 88, of Lufkin were held Friday, February 23, 2007 at 10 a.m. in the Carroway-Claybar Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Aubrey Knox and Reverend Jim Wood officiating. Interment followed in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park. Mr. Fuller was born December 4, 1918 in Canton, Texas, to Ida (Athey) and Henry Fuller, and died Saturday, February 17, 2007 in a local nursing home. Mr. Fuller resided in Lufkin all of his life and was a retired accountant, having been employed with Lufkin Industries for 41 years. He graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University in 1950 and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a past member of the Evening Lions Club, and was the past Assistant Boy Scouts Lions Club Sponsor. Mr. Fuller was also a member of Lufkin's First Baptist Church and the Senior Men's Sunday School Class.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Cletis (Wells) Fuller of Lufkin; daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Mark Pope of Lufkin; grandsons and wives, Greg and Amber Pope of Lufkin and Ryan and Angela Pope of San Augustine; great-granddaughter, Kylie Pope of Lufkin; great-grandson, Cade Pope of San Augustine; sisters, Ruthy and Evelyn Fuller; sisters-in-law, Mary Fuller of Lufkin and Gloria Wells of Point; and a number of nieces and nephews. Mr. Fuller was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Lester Fuller; nephew, Alan Fuller; and brother-in-law, Lamar Wells.
