KENZY HALLMARK SR.

Dec. 1, 1928 - Feb. 18, 2007

  Kenzy D. Hallmark, Sr., 78, of Lufkin, was born December 1, 1928, the son of the late Nannie (Hewitt) and Marlin Hallmark. He passed away Sunday, February 18, 2007, in Aspermont, Texas. Mr. Hallmark was a graduate of Lufkin High School. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree and Master of Science Degree from Texas A&M University and his law degree from the University of Texas. He was retired from the practice of law after 47 years with the firm of Zeleskey, Cornelius, Hallmark, Roper & Hicks. He served as an officer in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. Mr. Hallmark was the former president of the Angelina Chamber of Commerce, former president of the Lufkin High School Alumni Association, and was active in many civic and professional organizations. He was an active member of Lufkin's First United Methodist Church, a member of the Fellowship Sunday School Class, and served as Chairman of The Church Council. He was a devoted, loving husband, father and grandfather. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting.

Survivors include his daughters and sons-in-law, Abbe and Cornel Pike of Dallas area and Jennifer and Blake Rolley of Flagstaff, Arizona; son, John Warren Hallmark of Lufkin; granddaughters, Catherine Hitchcock, Amanda Hitchcock, Madison Rolley; grandsons, Brent Hitchcock, Kenzy Rolley, Chase Pike and Connor Pike. Mr. Hallmark was preceded in death by his wife, Joanne Hallmark on October 28, 2002; son, Kenzy D. Hallmark, Jr., on April 6, 1990; and his sister, Imagene Fowler.

Services for Mr. Hallmark were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, February 22, 2007, in Lufkin's First United Methodist Church, with Reverend Carol Clifford Turner and Reverend H. Michael Tyson, II officiating. Interment followed in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park. Gipson Funeral Home; Joni Johnson, director.
