Graveside services for Bobby Ray Malnar Jr., 43, of Lufkin, were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2007, in the Wallace Chapel Cemetery in Hudson, with Rev. Thomas Windham and Rev. George Glidden officiating with an honor guard provided by the Eastham Unit of TDCJ.
Bobby was born Feb. 12, 1964, in Lufkin, the son of Ruth and Bob Malnar Sr., and he passed away Sunday, Feb. 25, 2007, as a result of a boating accident.
Bobby married Kelley Stone on Feb. 25, 1983, in Lufkin, Texas. He was employed as Captain in Food Service at the Duncan Unit in Diboll. He had also worked at Eastham Unit in Lovelady, Texas. Bobby had been employed with TDCJ-ID from November 1982 until his death. He was a 1982 graduate of Hudson High School, and was one of Jehovah's Witnesses.
Bobby is survived by his wife, Kelley; son, Damon; daughter, Tiffany; grandson, Jacob Malnar; brother and sister-in-law, Don and Luran Pittmon; brother, Mike Malnar; father, Bob Malnar Sr.; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Herman and Sue Stone; sister-in-law, Karen Stone; all of Lufkin; nephew and wife, Donald and Karen Pittmon Jr.; nephew and wife, Bryan and LeeFran Skelton; niece, Lacey Skelton; nephews, Justin Pittmon, Jonathan Romo, Luke Ross, Trey Stone, Evan Stone, Kamryn Skelton; nieces, Justina Pittmon, Jamie Sue Stone, Brylee Nicole and Ciera Jo Skelton, all of Lufkin; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Ruth Malnar; and brother-in-law, James Herman Stone Jr.
Honorary pallbearers will be Donald Pittmon Jr., Steve Carter, Robert Ryan, Dwayne Ward, David Allen and Glenn Hopson. Oakley-Metcalf Funeral Home, directors, was in charge of arrangements.
