Funeral services for Floyd Crawford, 84, of Lufkin were held Monday, March 5, 2007, at 2:30 p.m. in the Carroway-Claybar Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Richard Forrest officiating. Interment followed in the Ryan Chapel Cemetery.
Mr. Crawford was born January 18, 1923 in Lufkin, to Dolly (Norwood) and Samuel Crawford, and died Friday, March 2, 2007.
Mr. Crawford served in the United States Air Force and was a member of the Baptist church.
He was self-employed having owned Crawford Motors for 40 years.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, LaRue Crawford of Lufkin; son and daughter-in-law, Sammy and Aileen Crawford of Mission, TX; daughter, Deborah Crawford of Rowlett, TX; son and daughter-in-law, James "Wheel" and Debbie Crawford of Lufkin; grandson and wife, Sammy Crawford II and Christina; granddaughters and husbands, Shelly and Brent Slaton and Caron and Jeff Cook; three great-grandchildren, Aaron Crawford, David Crawford, Presley Cook; brother, James Crawford of Lufkin; sisters, Betty Grey of Lufkin, Bobbie Cook of Diboll, Dorothy Perkins of California; numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Sammy Crawford, Brent Slaton, Jeff Cook, Don Parrish, Cal Tipton, and Ken Seale.
Honorary pallbearer was Bill Vardeman.
Carroway-Claybar Funeral Home, Lufkin, directors, were in charge of arrangements.
