Graveside services for Opal Marie LaMar, 84, of Lufkin were held Sunday, March 18, 2007 at 3:30 p.m. in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park with Reverend Horace Fletcher officiating.
Mrs. LaMar was born January 23, 1923 in Ridge Lake, Texas, to the late Onice Lee (Phillips) and Jack Monroe Corley, and died Thursday, March 15, 2007 in a local nursing home.
She had lived in Lufkin most of her life, and was a homemaker.
Survivors include her daughter, Billie Parker of Lufkin; grandchildren, Terry and Lisa Kirkland, Ronnie and Shannon Kirkland, Stephanie Kirkland, and Jeff and Kelly Kirkland; 13 great-grandchildren; sisters, Margaret Fetterman of Temple, Betty Tibbets of Nolanville and June Stickney of Oregon; brothers, Jack Corley and Woody Corley, both of Tyler, Billy Frank Corley of Temple and Tommy Corley of Whitehouse; and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl D. LaMar; daughter, Dorothy Tolin; sons, Richard Tyson Forrester and Robert LaMar; sister, Mittie Bertrand; and brother, A.V. Corley.
Pallbearers were Tommy Carswell, Bobby Hines, Anson Jones, Mike Jones, Chris Heaton and Sammy Kirkland.
Honorary pallbearer was Billy Jack Kirkland. Carroway-Claybar Funeral Home, Lufkin, was in charge of arrangements.
