LORETTA MOODY

Funeral services for Loretta Moody, 67, of Lufkin wereheld Saturday, March 24, 2007, at the Denman Avenue Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Roberts and Rev. Steve Shirley officiating. Interment followed in the Attoyac Cemetery in San Augustine County.

Mrs. Moody was born March 22, 1939, in the Attoyac Community of San Augustine County, Texas, to Edna L. (Thompson) and Travis S. Wall, and died Tuesday, March 20, 2007, in a Houston hospital.

Mrs. Moody had lived in Lufkin for more than 30 years, and was a teacher at Dependent Baptist Church. She started the Wings of a Dove Sunday School Class at Central Baptist Church, and taught the class for 25 years. She then started the class at Denman Avenue Baptist Church, and taught there for five more years. She also hosted the Good News Club and Backyard Bible Clubs. Mrs. Moody was a woman who loved the Lord and her children.

Survivors include her husband, Jesse J. Moody of Lufkin; son, Sammy J. DeVillier of Lufkin; daughter, Susan S. Stanford of Lufkin; sons and daughters-in-law, Mason and Misty Moody of Corrigan, Randy and Elizabeth Moody of Zavalla and Jesse and Christi Moody of Central; daughter, Charlotte Iczkowski of Lufkin; grandchildren, James Trentham, Tiffany Edwards, Kara Lena Stanford and Trey Stanford, all of Lufkin, Madison Moody of Corrigan, Daniel Stanford of Lufkin, Matthew Rhett Moody of Corrigan, Zach Moody, Kristin Moody, Emma Moody and Claire Moody, all of Zavalla, and Brandon Moody of Central; sisters, Wilma Rily of League City, Oveda Nichols of Deer Park, Lila Joy Allen of Deer Park, Peggy Merle Goodwin of Houston and Elizabeth Roach of Lufkin; brothers, Travis Wall Jr. of Nacogdoches and Mike Wall of Humble; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edna and Travis Wall; and sisters, Pauline Murray and Sherry Ann Wall.

Pallbearers were James Trentham, Pete Lane, James Hambric, Pete Davis, Carl Canino and Matt Shirley.

Honorary pallbearers were Trey Stanford and Ricky Wells. Memorial contributions may be made to the Denman Youth Designated Fund, 1807 East Denman Avenue, Lufkin, Texas 75904 or the First Baptist Church of Corrigan Youth Designated Fund, 103 North Collins, Corrigan, Texas 75939.
