Sarah (Frankens) Dominy, 77, of Diboll, was born December 19, 1929, in Corrigan, the daughter of the late Nobie (Stovall) and Floyd Frankens. She passed away Tuesday, March 27, 2007, in a local hospital.
Services for Mrs. Dominy were held at 3 p.m. Friday, March 30, 2007, in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Elzine Strong and Reverend Ronnie Frankens officiating. Interment followed in the Prairie Grove Cemetery.
Pallbearers were John Sikes, Jason Simecek, Justin Sikes, Jeff Glass, Jason Harris and B.J. Dominy. Honorary pallbearer was Wesley Hines.
Mrs. Dominy was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was retired from the City of Houston Tax Department following more than 20 years of employment. She loved playing the piano, singing, and enjoyed painting. She and L.B. also enjoyed traveling. Mrs. Dominy was a member of the Diboll United Pentecostal Church.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Dominy was preceded in death by her sister, Ruth Frankens; brother, Gilbert Frankens; and grandson, Tony Fridell.
Survivors include her husband, L.B. Dominy of Diboll; sister, Estelle Simecek-Shay of Houston; sister and brother-in-law, Jane and Clyde O'Quinn of Huntington; step-daughters and their husband, Nitta and Winston Hook of Diboll and Jean and Jimmy Burke of Diboll; step-daughter, Marie Fridell of Lufkin; step-son and wife, Benny and Karen Dominy of Lufkin; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and an abundance of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Gipson Funeral Home; Joni Johnson, director, was in charge of arrangements.
