In an effort to raise funds for various projects, the Diboll Police Association will be offering tickets for your opportunity to win a great "Mother Day Gift" assortment of goodies. Included in this package is dinner at the Cafe' Del Riop;l a gold diamond heart pendant from Beard Jewelers; a hair cut, style and five tanning sessions plue a half-half massage from Heavenly Paradise Salon & Spa; CDs and candy dish from Cornerstone Christian Bookstore; a bird house from Aundrea's Originals and and great gift of two shampoos, blow drys, hair cut and style from Elegant Images.
Tickets are $1 each of 6 for $5 and may be purchased from any Association member of by contact Officer Rodney Cheshire at 829-5586. Drawing will be May 12.
Also on tap for Saturday, June 30, 2007, is a golf tournament at Neches Pines in Diboll. Proceeds from this event will benefit the Association as well as Cpl. Don Mitchell and his family.
Cpl. Mitchell was struck by a drunk driver while conducting a traffic stop on Hwy. 59 on September 4, 2006. The intoxicated driver, who had no driver's license or insurance on the vehicle he was driving, struck the back of the police car, and it in turn, struck Officer Mitchell.
Mitchell will never be able to return to police work due to the injuries sustained in this accident.
