Charles Rance Morris, 69, of Diboll, was born June 21, 1937, in Burke, Texas, the son of the late Gladys (Dominy) and Charles Clifford Morris. He passed away on Wednesday, April 4, 2007, in at his residence following a courageous three-year battle with cancer.
Mr. Morris had been the owner and operator of Morris Air Conditioning Service since 1983. He had lived in the Burke/Diboll area all his life. He loved to fish and hunt, and cherished all of his family and friends. Mr. Morris had been a member of the former Bible Baptist Church, and attended Pine Grove Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Sarah Morris of Diboll; daughter, Charlotte Morris of Burke; sister and brother-in-law, Sophie Morris Lenderman and Raymond Lenderman of Diboll; brother and sister-in-law, Larry Gene and Carolyn Morris of Burke; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Taft, Jr., and Joycie Barringer, Jessie Martines, George Allen Barringer, Virginia and Jim Morrison, John Richard and Mary Barringer, Dixie Barringer and Danny and Kris Barringer; niece and nephews, Cindi Morris Reynolds; Barley Lenderman, Dennis Lenderman, Keith Morris, Ray Lenderman, Ricky Morris and Bradley Morris; as well as numerous other nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Preceding Mr. Morris in death was a brother-in-law, James William Barringer.
Pallbearers were Bradley Morris, Ricky Morris, Victor Garcia, Dennis Lenderman, Ray Lenderman, Barley Lenderman, Keith Morris and Danny Barringer.
Honorary pallbearers were James Lumpkin, Bill Lumpkin, Robert Williams, Bill Weatherford, Gary Jones, Jerry Weisinger, Billy Wayne Breazeale, Jerry Lee Breazeale and John Ralph Pouland. Funeral services for Mr. Morris were held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 7, 2007, in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Chris Price officiating. Interment followed in the Ryan Chapel Cemetery. Gipson Funeral Home; Todd Stracener, director, was in charge of arrangements.
