Our present Library building was dedicated on April 25, 1964. This year is the 43th anniversary of that special event and that is why with pride we have chosen April 25, 2007 for the groundbreaking of the new building renovation project. The Library will close at 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 25, 2007 to help get everything set up for the groundbreaking. Then the ceremony will begin at 5:00 p.m. here on the Library grounds. We would like to invite all of our patrons and everyone who takes pride in the community of Diboll to attend this momentous event.
Building renovations will double the size of the Library, and it will grow from 6,384 square feet to 14,108 square feet. There will only be one entrance, facing Park Street, and one parking lot on the south end of the building. The end of the street will close to give us access to the Nelson property for additional parking. A new community room will be added to the north end of the building along with a new children's area, and many more changes will also occur to give us additional space. An artist rendering of the new building is currently on display in the foyer of the Library.
Fine Free Week! The T.L.L. Temple Memorial Library is celebrating National Library Week by having a "Fine Free Week". National Library Week is a time to celebrate the contributions of libraries, librarians and library workers in schools, campuses and communities nationwide - and the perfect time for our community to come together @ your library.
