Joe Otis Harbuck, 87, of Lufkin, was born February 17, 1920, in Angelina County, Texas, the son of the late Habie Lee (Apail) and Thomas Will Harbuck. He passed away Saturday, April 14, 2007, in a local nursing facility.
Mr. Harbuck was retired from Texas Electric Steel & Casting Co., and had been a resident of Angelina County all his life. Mr. Harbuck served as a Corporal in the United States Air Force during World War II.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Lois Harbuck of Lufkin; sister, Grace Hartman of Lufkin; brother-in-law, Max Cammack of Pasadena; and a number of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. In addition to his parents, Mr. Harbuck was preceded in death by an infant child; his son, Charles Bruce Harbuck; brothers, Charlie, Earl, Otis, Mark and Gus; and sisters, Haskie, Lucille, Coreen and Beatrice.
Pallbearers were Jake Stringer, Roger Harbuck, Donald Harbuck, Mike Harbuck, Jack Earl Smith and Otis Harbuck. Honorary pallbearers were Billy Barrett and Max Cammack.
Services for Mr. Harbuck were held at Tuesday, April 17, 2007, in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Michael Jordan officiating. Interment followed in the Fielder Cemetery.
