Jacob Conner Johnson, 14, of Lufkin, was born May 30, 1992, in Lufkin, Texas. He passed away Sunday, April 15, 2007, in Nacogdoches.
Jacob was an 8th grade student at Hudson Middle School. He enjoyed being on the computer and playing video games, and Jacob loved his family. His favorite pastime was to be outdoors - hiking, camping at Grandma Glenda's and especially going hunting with Grandpa Jack.
Survivors include his mother, Melissa Melendez of Texas; father and stepmother, Roy and Tammy Johnson of Zavalla; brothers, Micheal Chambers of Oklahoma and Ryan Bennett of Texas; stepbrother, Justin McDonald of Zavalla; grandparents, Jack Matthews, Jr. and Patricia Matthews, Glenda and Matt Parkerson and LeeRoy Johnson, all of Lufkin; uncles and aunts, Jacky and Lyndee Matthews III of Lufkin, Troy and Anita Matthews of Oklahoma, Marsha and Brett Badeaux of Lufkin and Terri and Allen Ragland of Apple Springs; and a number of cousins and other family members.
Pallbearers will be Aaron Ragland, Dustin Ragland, Zachary Morgan, Jacky Matthews, III, Troy Matthews and Allen Ragland.
Services for Jacob will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, April 18, 2007, in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Charles Roberts and Bro. Kevin Roy officiating. Interment will follow in the Conner Cemetery in Ratcliff.
