REV. ARCHIE NASH SR.

Faithful servant

Funeral services were held Monday, April 16, 2007 for Rev. Archie Nash Sr., of Cold Springs (formerly Diboll).

He accepted his calling into the ministry and started a jailhouse ministry in San Jacinto County, which he continued faithfully for over 13 years. He also ministered in Livingston to death row inmates. He later pastured St. Clair Missionary Baptist Church and St. Paul/Mt. Horeb Baptist Church. He also worked dutifully with the Shiloh Baptist District Association. He served faithfully until his health failed in 2005.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 37 years, Mrs. Georgia M. Nash; sister, Sarah Nash Brown; daughters, Louise Brown, Joyce Williams (Jerry), Sharon L. Cauley (Joseph White Sr.); sons, Finis Nash Sr., Alvin Johnson Jr.; niece Mattie L. Lewis (Odis); God-children, Willie Mae Williams and Betty Jean Bradford; grandchildren, Robert Nash, Doris Etta Nash, Ertanya Washington, Everett Warren, Evette Batist, Elizabeth Warren, Janice and Janell Williams; and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Son Robert Nash and grandson Finis Nash Jr preceded him in death.

Active pallbearers were Jerry DeBerry and Alvin Johnson Jr.

The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation for all acts of sympathy during their time of bereavements. They are thankful for all the flowers, condolences, food, cards and prayers and their prayer is that God bless and keep you.
