LAST TRIP - Diboll seniors (from left) Tracey Morado, Chelsea Waters, Rachael Coleman and Monica Mettlen say good-bye to Diboll sports as they boarded the bus to Crockett last Friday. The four, along with their teammates closed out the season with a 15-1 win over the Crockett Lady Bulldogs to bring their season to a close. Under the direction of Coach Pam Bass, the ladies have provided Diboll fans with great softball, and, with eight members of the team returning to the field next season, look for more excitement next year. For Diboll seniors Tracey Morado, Chelsea Waters, Rachael Coleman and Monica Mettlen, Friday was a day of jubilance and sorrow all rolled up into one.

Friday was the last day these girls would don the Diboll softball uniform but they did it in style with a 15-1 rout of the Crockett Lady Bulldogs.

The four, however, didn't do it alone and Diboll fans can certainly look forward to big things to come next season with eight returning players.

The ladies racked up some impressive numbers at the plate.

Jasmine Lewis had a double, a stolen base, a run scored while Tracey Morado, also with a double, scored four runs. Chelsea Waters added a run and the Lady 'Jacks Hope Lakey had two singles, a stolen base, scored three runs and had an RBI. Danea Lakey added a double, a run and an RBI. Angela Williams also scored; Monica Mettlen had three singles, a stolen base, a run scored, and an RBI of her own.

Natalie DeJesus had a single and an RBI; Liz Castillo - a single, stolen base, and a run scored; Amanda Jordan - single, RBI; Lindsey Chandler - run scored and Racheal Coleman - single, stolen base, run scored, RBI.

Amanda Jordan was on the mound for the Diboll squad giving up only two singles, one walk, and had three strike outs.

"The Lady Jacks will be returning eight players for next season, so the future looks great for the Lady Jacks!" said Coach Pam Bass.

The Lady'Jacks finished the year with a oversall record of 15-16 and 3-11 in district play.
