Lufkin - Live music by the Davy Crockett Dulcimer Society, traditional cornbread and beans and loads of family fun await crowds at the twentieth annual Sawmill Supper on Friday, May 4 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Texas Forestry Museum in Lufkin. Come enjoy another great community get-together.
Local chefs cooking up their own flavor of beans are Clarkie Mae Brown, Buck Doiron, John Ippolito, Jack Gorden, Chuck Robinson, Jim Tierney, John Thannisch and Debbie Richards of Yates Broadcasting. Juanita Walls and Betty Ann and Jeff Holsinger will do the honors of homemade cornbread. The simple old-fashioned meal rounds out with coleslaw, cobbler, and a drink.
Tickets for a full evening of fun and food run just $6.00 for adults and $3.00 for children ages 6-12. There is no charge for children 5 and under.
