Graveside services for Billie Dale Kelley, of Lufkin were held Monday, April 30, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. in the Hillcrest Cemetery with Robert L. Faulk officiating.
Mr. Kelley was born March 21, 1922 in Diboll, TX, to Willie Lou (Love) and Edward Hobbs Kelley, and died Friday, April 27, 2007 in a local nursing home. He lived in Lufkin most of his life and was retired from Lufkin Industries where he was employed as a Machinist for 37 years. He also served in the U. S. Air Force, attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant, and earned an Oak Leaf Cluster for his service during WWII.
Survivors include his sister, Mary Frances Parrish of Lufkin; brother-in-law, Billy Mack Anderson of Lufkin; sister-in-law, Mary Louise Womack of Apple Springs; special friend, Paul Crye of Lufkin; step-daughter, Jerrie Gutierrez of Houston; step-son, George M. Dickerson of Oxnard, CA; seven step grandchildren; 13 step-great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Pauline Kelley; brothers and sisters, John, Hugh, Woodrow, Waymon, R.L., Reginald, Clayton, Jewel, Helen, Katherine, Nell and Pauline.
