Diboll takes 7-5 win over Crockett; scores 5 in 7th

Hunter Rogers is shown in his No. 17 car along with a few of his trophies that he has received down in Livingston at the East Tex FAST TRAX and up in Tyler on the I-20 Speedway. Hunter is following his Grandpa's old path into racing. The paint job is from Flower's Paint and Body and Ron's Pool's have helped to provide parts for the racer.

Down by a score of 5-2 going into the seventh inning, Diboll's hopes of winning on the road in Crockett were slim to none. Mind you, that was before the seventh inning.

Leading off in the top of the seventh, Lumberjack Robert Robert Cedillo drew a walk and Ketaraus Stanton and Kyle Prescott both had singles. Prescott's single scored the first run of the inning and Stanton scored moments later as Crockett errored on a hit by Chance Johnson. Cutler Ruby's trip to the plate proved successful with a double to score another Diboll run. Joey Solis drove in Johnson on a sacrifice fly followed by a double from Carlos Moreno to score the fifth run of the inning. Diboll claimed the 7-5 come-from-behind win bringing their district record to 6-7 and tied them with Crockett who dropped to 6-7. Carthage, Hudson, and Central are leading the district with Diboll and Crockett tied forfourth followed by Rusk, Center, and Huntington.

Ruby went all-the-way on the mound for the Lumberjacks. He allowed eight hits stuck out four and walked four.

Taking the loss for Crockett was Dustin Wyble, who gave up eight hits, seven strikeouts and four walks.

Stanton led the Lumberjacks at the plate with a double and two singles while Prescott had a pair of singles. Mareno and Ruby each had a double and Johnson added a single.

Diboll Red and White Update

Diboll's Red team defeated Crockett 13-6 on Tuesday April 24. Alek Gaard got the win allowing one run on one hit in four innings of work with three strikeouts and three walks. Stats include: Cody Stifle- double, single, 2 runs scored; Blake Bell- 1 RBI, 1 run scored; Jonathan Fuentes- double, single, run scored; Jose Mariotto- stolen base, run scored

Ryan Raspbeary- 2 singles, 3 runs scored, RB; Sergio Pena- double, 2 singles, 2 runs scored, RBI; Jesus Guerrero- single, RBI; Trey Loche- double, run scored, RBI; William Tudmon- single, stolen base,; Alek Gaard- single, run scored; and Caleb Stanford- single, run scored.

On Saturday April 21, Diboll White team finished out its season with a 9-8 victory over Huntington.

Ismael Enriquez pitched seven innings to get the win on the mound allowing eight runs on five hits with 14 strikeouts and six walks.
