He is not quite Tiger Woods yet, but for Diboll High School Freshman Wesley McClain the early stages of his high school golf career are certainly getting off to one heck of a start.
After taking the 2nd place home medal home in the individual portion of the District 20-3A Golf Tournament held here in early April. The showing garnered McClain a spot in the Class 3A Region III Golf Tournament in Brenham during the last week in April.
McClain shot a combined two day total of 155 to put him in a 5th place tie for the Region III tourney. With such a successful beginning McClain should be heard from again in the next few years.
