Pilot Club sponsors Kids' Safe Saturday at Diboll's Civic Center
The Pilot Club of Diboll will sponsor a Kids' Safe Saturday for children in grades 2 through 5 this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The event will be held in the south parking lot of the Diboll Civic Center located at 610 Dennis Street in Diboll.
The first 100 registered participants, who finish the program, will receive a free bicycle helmet. There will also be goodie bags, door prizes and a bicycle giveaway.
Participating in the event will be special guests Dr. C. H. Cathcart of East Texas Family Medical Center; Eddie Horton, Angelina County Constable, Precinct 5; Judge Esther Barger; Diboll Police Chief Kent Havard; Angelina County Sheriff Kent Henson; Texas Department of Public Safety Officer Greg Sanchez; Diboll Police Department Detective Richard Thompson; Jake Denman, Diboll ISD safety officer and Diboll Fire Chief Gary Jones and Ruth Oats.
Some of the programs presented will focus on stranger danger, critical care, computer safety, ambulance, and bike and fire safety.
Brainminders, an educational program developed by Pilot International to create public awareness concerning brain injury will also be presented.
Children need to register between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. for the day of fun and learning.
