Physicals for Diboll High School student athletes, May 25 at HS gym

BY RUSSELL A. PAYNE

Sports Editor

It is time to prepare for the 2007-08 athletics season, and that means physicals must be conducted for student athletes entering into 7th grade, 9th grade, 11th grade, and any new students to athletics/students not in good standing with current paperwork/students red flagged by the Athletic Trainer.

Physicals are not required for students in good standing with current paperwork going into 8th grade, 10th grade, or 12th grade.

If your child does not need a physical, they still have to complete all of the required paper work.

If your chid is currently enrolled in athletics and is planning to participate next school year, then they must have this paperwork completed and turned in by the week of May 21ST on the day that their final for athletics is scheduled for. If it is not turned in, then a zero will be recorded for the final examination grade.

Students will be given theRegional Physical Therapy Center and Mrs. Donna Olson (Diboll contracted Trainer) will provide the pre-participation physical examinations on site this year. This willlace on Friday, May 25, 2007 at th HS GYM . They will be performed during the day from 1:00 pm until 5:00 pm for all Diboll athletes. The cost of athletic physicals will be $15.00 per student with checks made out to Donna Olson.

Students should show up to school on the 25th of May with the money to cover the cost of a physical. If they do not, then they will have to receive a physical from a local or family physician on the provided form. No other form will be accepted. If you do not have the means to cover the cost of the physical on the 25th of May, please contact the Athletic Department.
