DAVID BUSBY

Graveside services for David "D.L." Busby, 62, of Diboll will be held Wednesday, May 23, 2007, at 11 a.m. in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park with Brother Elzine Strong officiating. D.L. was born Jan. 28, 1945, in Diboll, Texas, to the late Bertie (Allen) and George Busby, and went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Sunday, May 20, 2007. D.L. had worked for Temple Industries from 1970 to 1989 as a chauffeur for the Arthur Temple family. He also worked at Dealer's Supply and Southern Supply before retiring. He loved playing "42" dominoes and enjoyed family gatherings. He was an avid football and baseball fan. D.L. was a graduate of Diboll High School. He served in the U.S. Air Force. He enjoyed having his coffee with his friends at the Brisket House in Diboll, Texas. Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, David and Christina Busby of Diboll; daughter and son-in-law, Jaime and Ryan Smith of Lufkin; three grandchildren; brothers, Clayton Busby and Doyle Busby of Diboll; sisters, Marie Bane of Diboll, Georgia Mae Curry and Ruth Busby Durham of Lufkin; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bertie (Allen) and George Busby;sister, Sarah Beth (Busby) Reynolds; and brother, Leonard Busby. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 1125 Judson Road, Longview, Texas 75601. The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Carroway-Claybar Funeral Home, Lufkin, directors.
