Graveside services for Carlean Smith Conner, 69, of Apple Springs, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 23, 2007, in the Conner Cemetery in Houston County, Texas. Services will be officiated by Rev. Gerald Hollis and Rev. Bill Bailey. Mrs. Conner was born Nov. 18, 1937, in Ratcliff, Texas, the daughter of the late Syble (Fitts) and Earl Smith. She passed away Sunday, May 20, 2007, in Kennard. Mrs. Conner was a homemaker, and a beloved daughter, wife and mother. She was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, Robert (Bob) Conner of Apple Springs; sons and daughters-in-law, Bobbie and Donna Conner of Lufkin and Bill and Belinda Conner of Apple Springs; daughter and son-in-law, Karen and David Vickers of Crockett; grandchildren, Billy Ray Conner and wife Deidre, Michael Conner and wife Krystal, Sarah Thompson and husband Nathanael (Chop), Duane Nevins, Ashley Conner and husband Dewayne Falvey, Bradley Conner and Cortney Conner; great-grandchildren, Brantley, Morgan and Cadee Conner, Kaitlyn and Hannah Selman and Ashtyn and Ryland Redd; brothers and sisters-in-law, E. C. and Becky Smith of Flint, Jim and Nancy Smith of Kennard, Joe and Diane Smith of Apple Springs and Eddie and Carolyn Smith of Diboll; sister and brother-in-law, Ann and Bobby Brooks of Diboll; sister-in-law, Kathy Smith of Chandler; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Conner was preceded in death by her stepfather, Earl C. Smith; sister, Linda Kay Smith; and brother, Nelson Smith. Mrs. Conner's nephews will serve as pallbearers.
