LINWOOD DURHAM

Oct. 12, 1940 - June 1, 2007

Funeral services for Linwood Durham, 66, of the Wakefield Community were held Sunday, June 3, 2007 in the Carroway-Claybar Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Vic Bass officiating. Interment followed in the Durham Cemetery.

Mr. Durham was born October 12, 1940 in Lufkin, Texas, to Brother Billie and Nettie (Free) Durham, and died Friday, June 1, 2007 in a local hospital.

Mr. Durham had lived in the Wakefield Community since 1978 and was the successful business owner of Lufkin Eastex Welding. He loved East Texas history, nature and the outdoors. Mr. Durham was an avid fisherman and hunter, and attended the Gospel Church of Jesus Christ in Redtown.

Survivors include his sons, Keith Durham of Dallas, Dean Durham of Buffalo, Kenneth Earl Durham of Dallas, Jason Durham of Lufkin, Nickie Durham of Dallas and Larry Durham of Houston; son and daughter-in-law, Joey and Celeste Tibobos Havard of Lufkin; his only daughter, Sherian Durham of Lufkin; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Brother Paul and Martha Durham of Pollok; sister and brother-in-law, Billie Maxine and Ira Jones of Lufkin; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Brother Billie and Nettie Durham; sisters, Hazel Bass and Melba Smith; and brothers, Robert Durham and Ikie Durham.

Pallbearers were Billy Olson, Billy Jack Smith, Jason Cook, Marvin Barringer, Dean Smith, Sr., Dean Smith, Jr., Eric Durham and Clay Durham.

Honorary pallbearers were Claude Welch and Mousie White. Memorial contributions may be made to the Durham Cemetery Association, 1100 Augusta Drive, Lufkin, Texas 75901.
