WILLIAM NERREN

Oct. 4, 1935 - May 25, 2007

William "Glenn" Nerren, 71, of Lufkin, was born Oct. 4, 1935, in Angelina County, Texas, the son of the late William August Nerren and Nellie Gandy Nerren. He passed away Friday, May 25, 2007 in his home, with his wife Sue at his side.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Essie Nerren Cook; and brothers, Virble Nerren, George Nolen Nerren and Granville Nerren.

Glenn graduated from Lufkin High School in 1954, and graduated from Texas A & M in 1959. He retired from St. Regis Paper Company after working in personnel administration in Lufkin. Glenn was an avid family historian and enjoyed genealogy. He was a member of Homer Masonic Lodge in Huntington, Angelina County Historical Commission, Angelina County Genealogical Society, and had served on the board of the Salvation Army.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Sue Simms Nerren of Lufkin; nieces and nephews, Diedre and Amanda Gilbert, Sally Phillips, Alicia Sharp, Deborah Holland, George and Danny Nerren, Betty Pyburn and Joyce Hoffpauir; brothers-in-law, Kenneth Simms, Coy Simms and Terry Simms; sisters-in-law, Hilda Nerren, Glenda Nerren, Connie Goodwin and Margie Simms; and numerous other nieces, nephews and cousins. Pallbearers were Robert Gilbert, Randy Gilbert, Coy Simms, Terry Simms, Frederick Sharp and Danny Nerren.

Services for Glenn were held Monday, May 28, 2007 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend D. T. Black officiating. Eulogy was offered by Bobby Johnson. Interment followed in the Berry Cemetery.
