Proposed closure of county FSA office prompts public meeting

Meeting set to begin at 9 a.m. today

The proposed closing of the Farm Service Agency office (FSA) that serves Angelina County has prompted a public meeting to be held on Wednesday, June 6 from 9 a.m. - 11 a.m. to obtain public input.

Farmers and ranchers producing an agriculture commodity in Angelina County who would like to express their thoughts about the proposal to close the office, should plan to attend the meeting which will be held at the Texas Cooperative Extension Service, 2201 S. Medford Drive in Lufkin.

This meeting, hosted by the Texas PSA Management Team, will be the only opportunity for public comment on FSA's proposed plan to close the Angelina County office.

A press release issued by the U. S. Department of Agriculture, says all public comments will be fully considered before any action is taken.
