Funeral services for Bernice (Smithhart) Harvey Mott, 94, of Lufkin were held Wednesday, May 30, 2007 in the Carroway-Claybar Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Bo Keithly and Brother Jerry Browning officiating. Interment followed in the Cochran Cemetery.
Mrs. Mott was born October 29, 1912 in Huntington, Texas to the late Alma (McGurty) and Stuart Smithhart, and died Sunday, May 27, 2007 at Parkwood Place. Mrs. Mott had lived in Lufkin most of her life. She held the managerial position for various local restaurants, concluding with B's Restaurant before her retirement. She was a member of Kelty's Baptist Church. Survivors include her son, Lee Roy Harvey of Houston; grandchildren and spouses, Wayne and Madlynn Harvey, Rhonda Harvey and Randy and Debbie Harvey, all of Houston; Russell and Kathy Harvey of Corrigan; and Craig and Tami Harvey of Lakeland, Florida; great -grandchildren, Amber and Kayla Harvey, Corey and Andrew Harvey and Sterling and Hunter Harvey; step-great-grandson, Scott Reid; special friends, Sharon Luce and Kathy Hunt; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Sterling "Peck" Harvey; daughter, Bobbie Harvey; sons, Donny and Ronny Harvey and Billy Jack Harvey and daughter-in-law, Mildred Harvey.
Pallbearers were Wayne Harvey, Randy Harvey, Russell Harvey, Hulon Rayburn, Tommy Rushing, David Smithhart and Randy Segrest.
