Gerald Arthur Patrick, 58, of Lufkin, was born October 23, 1948, the son of the late Levita (Beach) and George Washington Patrick. He passed away Saturday, May 26, 2007, in a Houston hospital.
Gerald was retired from Lufkin Industries. He loved playing Bingo, hunting and fishing. He was a sports fan, and was a star football player in high school. Gerald served his country in the United States Army from '67 to '70, serving in Vietnam. He earned numerous decorations during his military career, including a Purple Heart. He was a member of Alco Baptist Church. Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Gerald Glenn and Margaret Patrick of Etoile; son, Zachery K. Patrick of California; grandson, Zachery Patrick; brothers, Durl Patrick of Colmesneil, Bobby Patrick of Kountze, Herbert Patrick of Kountze, G.W. Patrick of Colmesneil and Herman Patrick of Woodville.
Gerald was preceded in death by his wife, Vesta Patrick; sisters, Lilian Conner and Jessie Graham; and brother, Thurman Patrick. Services for Gerald were held Wednesday, May 30, 2007, in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. G. W. Patrick officiating. Interment followed in the Gregory Cemetery in Colmesneil.
