Funeral services for James (Jimmy) Wesley Thornton, 47, of Lufkin were held Saturday, June 9, 2007 at 2 p.m. in the Carroway-Claybar Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Cary Modisett officiating. Interment followed in the Berry Cemetery.
Mr. Thornton was born December 4, 1959 in Palestine, to Jean (Clampitt) and Joseph Lee Marsh, and died Tuesday, June 5, 2007 at his residence.
He worked as a clerk for Goodwill Industries for 15 years. Mr. Thornton was a Christian by faith.
Survivors include his mother, Jean Marsh of Huntington; sisters and brothers-in-law, Debbie and Robert Blanton of Huntington, Sandra and Michael Comer of Lufkin and Rebecca and Lambert Crain of Huntington; brother and sister-in-law, Jerry Lynn and Kim Marsh of Longview; six nephews; four nieces; and many good friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Lee Marsh; and sister, Anna Janette Marsh.
Pallbearers were Bobby Blanton, Daniel Blanton, John Sapp, Wallace Rice, Andy Salinas, John Van Natta, Rudy Castillo and Mike Brown.
