Flava Ward Vaughn, 92, of Orange (formerly of Diboll), was born January 13, 1915, in New Willard, Texas, the daughter of the late Ruth (Wimberly) and Sage Ward. She passed away Friday, June 8, 2007, in Orange.
Mrs. Vaughn was a resident of Diboll for most of her life, and lived in Orange for the past 10 years. She was retired from Southern Pine Lumber Company, where she worked as a secretary. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Diboll, where she was a former teacher for the Ruth Sunday School Class. She was past secretary of the Diboll Garden Club and past president of the Women's Baptist Missionary Society.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Gary "Finley" and Sue Vaughn of Orange; grandson, James Bryant Vaughn and wife Jill of Orange; five great-grandchildren; and two gr
eat-great grandsons. Mrs. Vaughn was preceded in death by her husband, Aden "Lefty" Vaughn; and grandson, Gary Ward Vaughn. Pallbearers were Cullen Vaughn, Haywood Quarles and Carl Burchfield, Sr.

Services for Mrs. Vaughn were held at 10 a.m. Monday, June 11, 2007, in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend C. G. "Buster" Grigg officiating. Entombment followed in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.
