Catherine Campbell Rouse, 83, of Lufkin, was born August 27, 1923, in Dubuque, Iowa, the daughter of the late Elizabeth (Nickolas) and Herman Buschmann. She passed away on Wednesday, June 13, 2007, in a Diboll nursing facility.
Ms. Rouse was retired from the Medical Records Department at Memorial Hospital following 17 years of service. Following retirement, she was a volunteer at the hospital for a number of years. Ms. Rouse was also a homemaker and a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a Charter Member of Trinity Baptist Church, and had been a resident of Lufkin since 1933.
Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Gerald N. and Mahaley Campbell of Lufkin, Donald R. and Linda Campbell of Diboll; daughter and son-in-law, Cathy and Walter Kirby of Lufkin; seven grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; as well as several nieces, nephews and other relatives. Expressions of sympathy in Ms. Rouse's memory may be made to the Trinity Baptist Church Nursery Playground Fund, 2909 E. Lufkin Ave., Lufkin, Texas 75901.
Services for Ms. Rouse were held at 10 a.m., Saturday, June 16, 2007, in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Walter Futch officiating. Interment followed in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.
