VERNON REYNOLDS

Sept. 25, 1943 - June 16, 2007

Services for Vernon Reynolds, 63, of Diboll, were held at 10:00 a.m., Monday in the Oakley-Metcalf Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Wesley Reynolds officiating. Interment followed in the Crawford Cemetery.

Mr. Reynolds was born September 25, 1943, in Angelina County, Texas, and he died Saturday, June 16, 2007, at his residence.

Mr. Reynolds was a retired equipment operator for Moore Bros. Construction. He was a U.S. Army veteran and of the Baptist faith. Mr. Reynolds loved to play music, garden and fish. Survivors include his sister, Pat Wilkerson of Diboll; sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn and Mike Simmons of Huntington; brothers and sisters-in-law, Perry and Rita Reynolds of Channelview, Louie and Helen Reynolds of Nacogdoches, Virgil and Kim Reynolds of Lufkin; sisters-in-law, Sallie Reynolds and Carolyn Reynolds, both of Lufkin; aunt, Billie Reynolds Bell of Huntington; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Medford and Virgie Reynolds; brothers, John Riley Reynolds, Bill Reynolds, James Reagan Reynolds and Howard Reynolds; and sister-in-law, Sarah Reynolds.

Pallbearers were Douglas Watson, Ray Reynolds, Author Lee Anderson, George Henry Anderson, Lance Allen and Jimmy Reynolds.

Honorary pallbearers were Steve Edwards, Tom Best, Troy Allen and J.W. Reeves. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Hospice in the Pines and Home Health for the care given to Mr. Reynolds.
