Santa, Diboll police looking for bandits

On June 22, 2007, Diboll Police Department officers were dispatched to storage building complex located at the corner of Hendricks and Hines Street in Diboll in reference to a burglary of a building.

The ensuring investigation found that within the past week unknown suspect(s) removed the pad lock from the door and removed a large portion of the toys that were housed in the building.

These toys had been collected by members of the VFW, police and fire departments in numerous toy drives within the East Texas area. These toys, with the assistance of Santa Claus, are distributed to children of less fortunate families to ensure that their Christmas would be a little brighter.

If you have any information about this crime, call the Diboll Police Department at 829-5586 or Crime Stoppers at 639-8477. If the information you provide leads to the arrest or grand jury indictment of the person or persons responsible, you may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000. Your phone call is confidential and you do not have to leave your name.
