LUFKIN, TEXAS - Memorial Health System of East Texas welcomes V. Chowdary Achanta, M.D., to the medical staff. Dr. Achanta serves as the Lufkin facility's hospitalist.
As hospitalist, Dr. Achanta offers on-site patient care and works closely with patients' personal physicians to help provide high quality medical services to patients while they are in the hospital.
"We are pleased to welcome Dr. Achanta to our team," said Bryant Krenek, Memorial CEO. "An on-site hospitalist ensures that our patients receive the highest quality care possible. In addition, local physicians remain informed about their patients' status, as Dr. Achanta communicates this information regularly to all patients' personal physicians."
Dr. Achanta comes to Lufkin from Port Arthur, where he served as the attending physician for a medical group. In this capacity, he worked within many hospitals and outpatient clinics, giving him a great deal of insight into the inner workings of a hospital system.
"My background and experience have well prepared me for this new and exciting opportunity," said Dr. Achanta. "I feel that my understanding of hospital systems as well as my patient care knowledge and experience benefit the patients and staff at Memorial Health System in Lufkin."
In addition to Dr. Achanta's work as an attending physician in Port Arthur, he completed an internship at Kingston Hospital in Jamaica.
