Berniece Kelley Henson, 79, of Newton, passed away to be with her Lord on June 20, 2007 at her son's home in Newton. Born to Strait and Mabel Biscamp Kelley on May 20, 1928 in Newton, she lived most of her life in Newton. She graduated from Newton High School in 1946 and she married the love of her life, James Kay Henson, on March 6,1948.
Funeral services were held at the First United Methodist Church of Newton under the direction of Smith Funeral Home on Friday, June 22, 2007 at 10 a.m. with interment in the Newton Cemetery. The service was be conducted by Pastor Joe Miller.
Berniece was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 46 years, her brother, Harold Kelley and her sister, Vera Mae Brenneman.
Two sons, Donnie Henson and wife, Molindia of Newton and Ronnie Henson, and wife, Julie of Newton, survive her. Also, seven grandchildren, Melissa Stone and husband, Marty of Keller, Chad Henson of Newton, DeAnne Tobias and husband, Wes of Diboll, Eric Henson of Diboll, Josh Henson and wife, Christie of Arlington, Angela Siau and husband, Cory of Newton, and Brian Henson and Lindsey Brown of Newton; great-grandchildren, Mason and Max Stone of Keller, Haley Henson of Newton, Samantha and Cameron Tobias of Diboll, Bradley and Zackery Henson of Arlington, Hannah Siau of Newton, and Ashur Henson of Newton; sisters, Bobbie Smith and husband Drannon of Newton, Wanda Jones and husband, Richard of Silsbee, Shirley Choate and husband, Danny of Mineola and brother O'Dell Kelley and wife Barbara of Katy.
