Memorial services for Reverend Jack Meyers, 50, of Zavalla were held Saturday, June 23, 2007 at 3 p.m. in the First United Methodist Church of Huntington with Reverend Martin B. Doran officiating. Cremation arrangements were under the direction of Carroway-Claybar Funeral Home.
Reverend Meyers was born June 15, 1957 in Beaumont, Texas, to Doris (Wilkerson) and Jack Royce Meyers, Sr., and died Wednesday, June 20, 2007 in a local hospital.
Reverend Meyers had lived in Zavalla for the past 10 years. He was a United Methodist minister, and served at the Melrose and Simpson Campgrounds for the United Methodist Church. Reverend Meyers had also worked for Anadarko Petroleum Company.
Survivors include his wife, Valerie Meyers of Zavalla; sons, Chuck Meyers, James Williams and David Meyers, all of Zavalla; daughters, Monica Meyers of Zavalla and Jaclyn Meyers of Jasper; daughter and son-in-law, Leah and Rod Warren of Lufkin; daughter, Lydia Bukowski of Bemidji, Minnesota; granddaughters, Katelin Frey of Bemidji, Minnesota and Elizabeth Warren of Lufkin; father and stepmother, Jack, Sr. and Linda Meyers of Jasper; mother, Doris Pollack of Jasper; sister and brother-in-law, Terry and Brian Edgerly of Winnie; sister, Melinda Doty of Beaumont; brother, John Edwards of Beaumont; brother and sister-in-law, Randy and Suzanne Pollack of Hitchcock; brother, Jason Meyers of Jasper; sisters, Kim Hawthorn of Newton, Denise McKinley of Buna and Annette Evans of Burkeville; brother, Tony Meyers of Jasper; sister, Connie Lamon of Center; nephews, Brad and Andrew Edgerly; and a number of other relatives.
